You Asked, We Delivered – Introducing RIVA 710: Moderator Refresher

Part of what RIVA strives to do is provide our students with what they need the most from us – whether that is by covering industry related topics here on our blog, via our newsletter, or on our Facebook Live events; and/or if it’s creating courses that align with what students need in that phase of their careers.

Over the last several years, one thing became really clear for us: Alums want to have their skills re-evaluated so they can ensure they are continuing the best practices they learned in a RIVA Moderator Training Course.

And now, you can do just that!

The purpose of RIVA 710: Moderator Refresher is to allow students to:

1. Get current questions about moderating answered (after being in the field for a while), and

2. Receive targeted constructive feedback on their current moderating skills and how to improve them.

What makes RIVA 710 unique is that it is specifically tailored to the students who enroll in the class. It’s designed to be a one-on-one course that can be held virtually or in-person to meet the students where they are.

We anticipated some questions, and wanted to address them below:

1. How long is the course?
   
   A: RIVA 710 is a one-day course, lasting roughly eight hours with breaks scheduled throughout.
   
   
2. What kind of topics will be allowed for the moderated session?
   
   A: Any topic that a general market consumer would be able to discuss. We are open to almost any. If you’re working in a specific industry that requires specific Respondents, RIVA 710 is not the right fit for you; please refer to our coaching packages to plan a different offering.
   
   
3. What does the pre-course assignment look like?
   
   A: Two weeks prior to the scheduled day of the class, the enrollee must provide RIVA with a screener for recruiting. It is also expected that students will bring their completed Moderator’s guide and Purpose Statement to class.
   
   
4. Who can take RIVA 710?
   
   A: RIVA 710 is open to any RIVA alums who have completed a RIVA moderating course and assumes enrollees have: written a Purpose Statement, developed a Moderator’s guide, and previously moderated QREs.

5. What makes RIVA 710 unique from RIVA’s other moderating classes?
   
   A: This course is tailored to each individual who takes the class. In it, students can choose a topic and QRE that they would work on in their current role. Each student is provided one-on-one written and oral feedback. Because the class is a one-on-one between the student and Trainer, it allows for more in-depth discussion specific to that student’s needs.
   
   Additionally, the class can be held in-person or virtually based on the student’s preferences and scheduled on a day that works for the enrollee – with the exception of weekends.
